When and why did you first become interested in gymnastics? When I was 6 I started taking classes with my friends and thought it was fun so I kept doing it

When did you decide you wanted to compete? And, when did you want to compete at a high level? What about competition appeals to you? I decided I wanted to compete when 7. My coach started pushing me to learn higher level routines and I thought they were fun and easy. I don’t know if I made a decision to compete at a higher level, but I loved competition and pushing myself to learn new things.

What is your training regimen? Was that a big change when you made the switch to competitive gymnastics? I train Monday-Friday from 3:30-8. No because every time I moved levels we added more hours.

What is your favorite event? Bars

What is your favorite skill? Tkachev

What music do you use for your floor routine? Tango Amore

Who is your favorite gymnast or who is your “idol”? Shawn johnson

How have you grown as a gymnast during your career, both skill wise and mentally? As I got older I realized how mental this sport can be and I am learning how to relax, enjoy and be grateful for the opportunities.

How has gymnastics helped you as a person? It has taught me to be focused, learn time management, and be passionate.

If you had to select one life-lesson that gymnastics has taught you, what would it be? How to be focused and work hard to achieve your goals.

What are your biggest accomplishments or best memories in your career? Winning regionals in 2017 and placing in vault at my first nationals

What grade are you in school? I am in 8th grade.

Do you want to compete in collegiate gymnastics? Yes

What are your favorite subjects, etc.? Science

If you plan to go to college, do you know what you want to study there? I would like to study medicine.

What are your goals for the future, both as an athlete and after you are finished competing? My goals for the future are hoping to be a college gymnast and compete at the NCAA championships. I am hoping to study medicine and follow in the footsteps of my dad and become an orthopedic surgeon.

When you’re not in the gym, how do you enjoy spending your time? Do you have any hobbies or favorite activities? Charities? I mostly hang out with my friends when I’m not at the gym. I am apart of the Assisteens of Seattle. We help children/teens who are homeless and we provide clothing and other essential needs.

Do you have any competition rituals? Lucky charms? I listen to music and visualize my routines in my head

What’s on your IPod right now? What type of music do enjoy listening to? How about before a meet when you’re trying to get focused and pumped up? On my phone right now is a mix of today’s top hits, rap, and edm music. I mostly enjoy listening to edm music. When I am trying to get pumped up for my meets I listen to my sisters old soccer playlist.

If you had to pick 3 words to describe yourself as a gymnast, what are they? Determined, passionate, and fun
