Two more gymnasts headed to Nastia Liukin Cup

INDIANAPOLIS (January 24, 2023) – Two more gymnasts have claimed their spots for the 2023 Nastia Liukin Cup, set to take place February 24 at Louisville’s Freedom Hall within the Kentucky Exposition Center. In all, the competition will feature 20 junior and 20 senior USA Gymnastics Women’s Development Program Level 10 athletes determined through the ongoing seven-week series of qualifying invitationals.

Junior Jordyn Johnson (Allen, Texas/Metroplex Gymnastics) and senior Avery Neff (South Jordan, Utah/Olympus Gymnastics) topped their respective fields at the Sand Dollar/Whitlow Invitational in Kissimmee, Fla., to advance to this year’s Nastia Liukin Cup. Neff is a two-time Cup competitor, finishing on the podium in 2021 and 2022, while Johnson will make her event debut.

Six more athletes will punch their tickets next weekend across the Biles International Invitational in Houston, Texas, Denver Winterfest Classic in Denver, Colo., and River City Classic in Omaha, Neb.

The Nastia Liukin Cup was founded in 2008 by 14-time Olympic and World medalist Nastia Liukin and is in its 14th year.
