2. Do you have a nickname?
Abbs

3. Where do you live to train? (Not your hometown unless you train in hometown).
I train in Orlando, Fla.

4. When and why did you first become interested in gymnastics?
When I was little, I was doing a lot of cartwheels around the house, so my mom put me in gymnastics to keep me safe.

5. Do you have any good/funny memories from when you first started taking gymnastics classes?
I enjoyed going to the Halloween party at my gym where we would have a blast.

6. When did you decide you wanted to compete? And, when did you want to compete on the elite level? What about competition appeals to you?
I decided I wanted to compete when I was young because it just seemed really cool to be able to show off my skills in front of the judges.

7. What is your training regimen? Was that a big change when you made the switch to competitive gymnastics?
We train 4-5 hours a day, 5-6 days a week. When I first started, we were only training 15-20 hours a week so it took a little getting used to.

8. What is your favorite event?
Beam

9. What is your favorite skill?
Triple full

10. What music do you use for your floor routine?
It’s a different mix of music with a hip-hop vibe.

11. Who is your idol?
My gymnastics idols would be Nastia Liukin or Shawn Johnson.

12. How has gymnastics helped you as a person?
Gymnastics has helped me become mentally and physically strong.

13. If you had to select one life lesson that gymnastics has taught you, what would it be?
To never give up.

14. What grade are you in and where do you go to school?
I am in 8th grade, and I go to The Master’s Academy.

15. Do you want to compete in collegiate gymnastics?
Yes, being a collage gymnast would be awesome!

16. What are your favorite subjects?
My favorite subjects in school are history and science.

17. If you plan to go to college, what do you want to study there?
I would want to study Chemistry.

18. What are your goals for the future, both as an athlete and after you are finished competing?
My goals for being an athlete are to be a college gymnast and after that become successful in the career I choose.

19. When you are not in the gym, how do you spend your time? Hobbies or favorite activities?
I like to do crafts and DIY’s.

3. How far away from your home do you train?
I train in Orlando, FL. about 30 minutes from Sanford.

4. When and why did you first become interested in gymnastics?
When I was little, I was doing a lot of cartwheels around the house, so my mom put me in gymnastics to keep me safe.

5. Do you have any good/funny memories from when you first started taking gymnastics classes?
A good memory was the first Halloween part I went to at my gym.

6. When did you decide you wanted to compete? And, when did you want to compete on the elite level? What about competition appeals to you?
When I was in kindergarten, I put in Level 4. The thing I love about competition is being able to show off my skills to the judges.

12. How have you grown as a gymnast during your career, both skill wise and mentally?
Skills wise, a lot. I went from doing to cartwheels to doing double backs. As far as mentally, it has definitely made me tougher.

13. How has gymnastics helped you as a person?
It has given me a lot more confidence.

14. If you had to select one life-lesson that gymnastics has taught you, what would it be?
To never give up.

15. What are your biggest accomplishments or best memories in your career?
One big accomplishment was at Level 8 nationals and winning 3rd all around and 1st on beam.

16. What grade are you in school, and where do you go to school?
I am in seventh grade at The Masters Academy.

17. Do you want to compete in collegiate gymnastics?
Yes.

18. What are your favorite subjects, etc.?
English and history.

19. If you plan to go to college, do you know what you want to study there?
Not quite yet.

20. What are your goals for the future, both as an athlete and after you are finished competing?
As an athlete to do the best I can with my abilities and go to nationals this year. After I’m finished, I want to go to college and see where that takes me.

21. When you’re not in the gym, how do you enjoy spending your time? Do you have any hobbies or favorite activities? Charities?
I like to cook, bake and draw. My favorite thing to bake are cupcakes.

My brother played soccer and basketball, and my dad played soccer at Mississippi.

We always eat at Subway before meets.

A lot of upbeat Christian music.

Determined, focused, energetic
