Do you have a nickname? Ry or Ryles

What is your training regimen? I train four to five hours a day, six days a week.

What is your favorite event? Bars!

What is your favorite skill? Tkatchev on bars!

Who is your favorite gymnast or who is your “idol”? I have lots of role models! I think that you can always find something in someone that you admire and would like to change about yourself. Right now one of my role models is my teammate Jordyn Jaslow because of her hard work ethic, overall attitude, and team oriented thought process.

How has gymnastics helped you as a person? It has taught me time management, how to be adaptable and grateful, how to love my team, the value of hard work and perseverance, and the list never ends.

What are your biggest accomplishments or best memories in your career? My favorite memories are always of travel meets and Nationals. I love those fun meets where you can cheer really loudly and just have fun because your hard work has paid off.

What grade are you in school? I am a sophomore.

Do you want to compete in collegiate gymnastics? Yes! I’m committed to the University of Denver. Go Pios!

What are your favorite subjects, etc.? I love my AP government class.

If you plan to go to college, do you know what you want to study there? I’m not sure! I love government and social studies, but I don’t think I could go wrong with anything.

What are your goals for the future, both as an athlete and after you are finished competing? I want to continue to make Nationals and learn new skills. I also want to study at and compete with the University of Denver.

When you’re not in the gym, how do you enjoy spending your time? Do you have any hobbies or favorite activities? I love to bake and cook and I have lots of pets including a dog, a hamster, and a big fish tank. I also like to do crafts and spend time outside in the mountains. I find it fun to learn little tricks such as juggling, solving a Rubik’s Cube, and magic tricks.

What is your favorite food? I like chicken lettuce wraps, but you can never go wrong with crepes! If boba/bubble tea was a food, that would be my favorite.

What is your favorite movie? Harry Potter!

What is your favorite book? Harry Potter!

Are any of your family members current or former athletes? Which sports? My brother plays hockey and my youngest sister is an equestrian vaulter.

Do you have any competition rituals? Lucky charms? As a team, we have a mental warmup that we do together which is really fun and helpful.

What’s on your IPod right now? What type of music do enjoy listening to? How about before a meet when you’re trying to get focused and pumped up? If I’m dancing around with my teammates, really any song is good.

If you had to pick 3 words to describe yourself as a gymnast, what are they? Happy, hard working, determined
