Q: When and why did you first become interested in gymnastics?
A:
I started gymnastics when I was 5 years old. I would usually flip around the house, and my parents didn’t want me to get hurt, so they put me in gymnastics class. I came to Georgia Elite as a Level 5.

Q: Do you have any good/funny memories from when you first started taking gymnastics classes?
A:
I was doing my beam routine at a Level 8 meet and started dancing to the floor music that was playing.

Q: Do you plan to compete in college?
A:
My goal is to go to Stanford.

Q: When did you decide you wanted to compete?
A:
When I was 7 years old.

Q: What about competition appeals to you?
A:
I like showing everyone my gymnastics. Ultimately, you just have to have fun with it.

Q: What is your favorite event?
A:
It is a tie between beam and floor. I love to dance, and I like to have fun during floor. I’m always dancing in the gym.

Q: What is your favorite skill?
A:
My beam dismount, two back handsprings to a double back. I like the difficulty of the element, and I think its really cool.

Q: What music do you use for your floor routine?
A:
Hernando’s Hideaway.

Q: Who is your favorite gymnast or who is your “idol”?
A:
Dominique Dawes because she was super original.

Q: How has gymnastics helped you as a person?
A:
It’s helped me with discipline.

Q: If you had to select one life-lesson that gymnastics has taught you, what would it be?
A:
When you are under pressure to breathe, to relax and stay positive.

Q: What are your biggest accomplishments or best memories in your career?
A:
Going to nationals twice, being on the national team and getting a double layout on floor.

Q: What are your favorite subjects, etc.?
A:
I love science and chemistry. I think it’s cool to do experiments.

Q: If you plan to go to college, do you know what you want to study there?
A:
I want to major in economics and minor in international studies.

Q: What are your goals for the future, both as an athlete and after you are finished competing?
A:
I want to be a collegiate gymnast, go to my dream school and win a couple of championships.

Q: When you’re not in the gym, how do you enjoy spending your time?
A:
I play the violin and hang out with friends.

Q: What is your favorite food?
A:
Sushi.

Q: What is your favorite movie?
A:
High School Musical is my favorite movie. I know all the songs and all of the dances.

Q: What is your favorite music group or artist?
A:
Beyoncé because she is the queen.

Q: Do you have any competition rituals? Lucky charms?
A:
I have to eat pasta, and I listen to music before I compete. I wear the same hair bow, shoes, and perfume to every meet.

Q: If you had to pick 3 words to describe yourself as a gymnast, what are they?
A:
Positive, energetic, and compassionate.
