Q: When and why did you first become interested in gymnastics?
A:
My parents put me in gymnastics classes when I was 3!

Q: Do you have any good/funny memories from when you first started taking gymnastics classes?
A:
My dad would always spot me on back flips on the trampoline in the back yard.

Q: When did you decide you wanted to compete? And, when did you want to compete at a high level? What about competition appeals to you?
A:
I wanted to compete at a young age. I enjoy the challenge of competing under pressure.

Q: What is your training regimen? Was that a big change when you made the switch to competitive gymnastics?
A:
I work out 30 hours a week, every day but Sunday.

Q: What is your favorite event?
A:
Bars or Beam.

Q: What is your favorite skill?
A:
Shaposh

Q: What music do you use for your floor routine?
A:
Tango

Q: Who is your favorite gymnast or who is your “idol”?
A:
Aly Raisman

Q: How have you grown as a gymnast during your career, both skill wise and mentally?
A:
I have learned many new skills both in and out of the gym. Gymnastics has helped me learn how to set goals and achieve them.

Q: How has gymnastics helped you as a person?
A:
It has taught me the value of hard work and dedication.

Q: If you had to select one life-lesson that gymnastics has taught you, what would it be?
A:
Never give up!

Q: What are your biggest accomplishments or best memories in your career?
A:
2016 Nationals

Q: What grade are you in school, and where do you go to school?
A:
Freshman, I am home schooled.

Q: Do you want to compete in collegiate gymnastics?
A:
Yes, I have committed to Michigan! Go Blue!

Q: What are your favorite subjects, etc.?
A:
Science

Q: What are your goals for the future, both as an athlete and after you are finished competing?
A:
I will compete at the University of Michigan and see where life takes me from there!

Q: When you’re not in the gym, how do you enjoy spending your time? Do you have any hobbies or favorite activities? Charities?
A:
I like to bake when I am not in the gym. I also like to shop and relax.

2. Do you have a nickname?
“Car.”

3. Do you live somewhere besides your hometown?
Gothenburg is my hometown and I currently live and go to school in West Des Moines, Iowa.

4. When and why did you first become interested in gymnastics?
I was 3 years old when I took my first gymnastics class.

5. Do you have any good/funny memories from when you first started taking gymnastics classes?
During competition in my first meet, I forgot my floor routine. That was in Level 3.

6. When did you decide you wanted to compete? And, when did you want to compete on the elite level? What about competition appeals to you?
I have only done competitive gymnastics.

7. What is your training regimen? Was that a big change when you made the switch to competitive gymnastics?
I train every day except Sunday. It was a little bit of a change.

8. What is your favorite event?
Beam

9. What is your favorite skill?
Back handspring layout.

10. What music do you use for your floor routine?
It’s called “Hungarian Rhapsody.”

11. Who is your favorite gymnast or who is your “idol”?
(Liang) Chow because he is very positive and a great coach.

12. How have you grown as a gymnast during your career, both skill wise and mentally?
The challenges I have faced in the gym every day make me stronger.

13. How has gymnastics helped you as a person?
It has helped me learn the value of hard work and determination.

14. If you had to select one life-lesson that gymnastics has taught you, what would it be?
If you make mistakes, get back up and try again.

15. What are your biggest accomplishments or best memories in your career?
My biggest accomplishments are winning Super 8 at Regionals and qualifying for the Nastia Liukin Cup this year.

16. What grade are you in school, and where do you go to school?
I am in 7th grade and I go to Stilwell Junior High School.

17. Do you want to compete in collegiate gymnastics?
Yes.

18. What is your favorite subject?
Science.

19. If you plan to go to college, do you know what you want to study there?
I plan to study physical therapy.

20. What are your goals for the future, both as an athlete and after you are finished competing?
My goals are to become a physical therapist and help gymnasts with their pain and prevent injuries. Until then, I plan to be the best athlete I can be.

21. When you’re not in the gym, how do you enjoy spending your time? Do you have any hobbies or favorite activities? Charities?
I like to spend time with my friends and family.

Either pasta or burritos.

The latest “Annie” movie.

“Snap” by Alison McGhee.

Megan Turner.

No.
